How to add a Rabies Tag to the patient's visit or profile?
Updated over a week ago

You can add Rabies tag only together with other information about a Rabies vaccination.

There are two possible scenarios here:

1. You administer a Rabies vaccine to a dog or cat, and you want to add a Rabies tag right away.

In this case, you would typically create a new SOAP (visit) record from an appointment, and add a service with Rabies product to the Plan section.

It is very important that the product (whether or not it is part of service) is in Rabies category. Only products from this category would have a Tag Number field appear below:

What if there's no Tag Number field?

If you don't see the Tag Number field when you added a Rabies product or service, you need to:

  • navigate to Inventory -> Directory -> Products,

  • filter by product name,

  • edit product:

  • set category to Rabies:

Once the category is set correctly, return to the SOAP record and reload the page. You will now see the Rabies Tag field.

2. You don't administer Rabies, you just need to log it in Digitail.

For example, you have a new patient with a Rabies tag, but vaccination was done outside of your clinic. Or maybe your existing patient received Rabies vaccination while visiting other veterinary practice for some reason.

In this case, you need to edit patient's Preventive History.

To do this, open patient's profile (Health Card) by clicking patient's name from Patients page, Appointments, Flowboard etc.

Under Preventive tab, you will see a button to add a new preventive item to the history:

This is where you can enter the Tag number:
