When to use write-ins?

Sometimes you have product on hand, but you don't have it in stock in Digitail.

Currently (Aug 2025), Digitail will not let you spend stock that doesn't exist yet.

Another option is that you don't carry this product at all, and it is a one-off item that you won't add to your inventory.

You may also want to create a service on the go, for a custom procedure that will not be repeated, or that will have a different price.

For example, if you want to pass the credit card fee (surcharge) to your clients, you can write in a service with a price that correlates with the credit card processing fee for the transaction.

Note: Please make sure applying a surcharge for credit card transactions is legal in your jurisdiction before using it.
