Digitail's Wellness Plans are designed to help clinics offer clients prepaid annual care packages. Below are some common questions and answers to help you understand how wellness plans work in Digitail.


Payment Options for Wellness Plans

Currently, wellness plans are processed as prepaid annual subscriptions, which require a saved card on file.

The available recurrences are montly, every 4 weeks and yearly.

  • ❌ Cash, check, or CareCredit payments are not supported at this time.

  • ✅ Card on file is the only available option.

Our product team has an active ticket to expand supported payment methods. This is on the product roadmap for future updates.


Revenue Center & AAHA Code

To ensure proper categorization in reporting, Wellness Plan revenue is tied to the following code:

  • AAHA Code: 5880 (Wellness / Pre-paid Plan Revenue Center)


Multi-Location Support

At this time, wellness plans are tied to a single clinic/location:

  • If a pet visits another clinic location, the linked records will not reflect that the client is on a wellness plan.

  • Discounts and benefits won't automatically carry over between locations.

Good news: Multi-location support for wellness plans is on the product roadmap and will be added in a future release.


Can pet parents enroll without downloading the Digitail pet parent app?

Yes. Pet parents can enroll in a wellness plan via the web pet portal, in two ways:

  • From a plan proposal email the clinic sends them - the link opens in their browser (no app needed) and they enroll via the web pet portal.

  • Directly from the clinic's website - if the clinic has added an "Enroll" link to a plan call to action, new and existing pet parents can sign up without contacting the clinic first.

The mobile pet portal app is still recommended for ongoing plan management (viewing benefits, tracking usage, updating payment methods). For the full sign-up flow, see Assign a Plan to a Patient.
