Digitail Integration Setup Guide for Modeus Vet S8

Step 1: Tag products as ‘Controlled substances’

If you want an invoice for a product to transfer from Digitail to your Vet S8 account so you can maintain records for it, you will need to ensure that the specific product is tagged accordingly.

  1. Log in to your Digitail account.

  2. Navigate to Inventory > Directory > Products.

  3. Each product should have a series of icons next to it on the right. Edit the relevant product by clicking on the edit icon.

  4. This will open a new tab in your web browser. Under the Stock and Details heading, tag the product as a ‘Controlled substance’ by ticking the box and then clicking save.

  5. Once you are returned to your account’s products list, ensure that you tag your remaining products in the same manner.

  6. Once this has been completed, please inform your Modeus representative.


Step 2: Authorize authentication with Vet S8 account

  1. Modeus will initiate the authorization for your Vet S8 account.

  2. Your Modeus representative will provide you with a special link to log into your Digitail account, as well as the login details for your Vet S8 account.

  3. Ensuring that you are not using a private or incognito window in your web browser, log in to your Digitail account as per usual.

  4. Once logged in, you will be met with an ‘Authorization Request’ prompt. Click Authorize.

  5. After being re-directed to a Modeus login page, use the login details provided by your representative to log into your Vet S8 account.

  6. Once logged in, look out for this prompt on the home page of your account and click ‘Complete Auth’.

  7. After doing this, your Vet S8 account should now be integrated with Digitail.


Step 3: Adding medications

  1. Your Vet S8 account will come with a list of medications by default. If the products in your Digitail inventory are not there, you can lodge a request with the Modeus support team to add custom medications to your account.

  2. In your request, specify the exact naming to be used for the custom medications. If there are many to add, you may wish to compile a list in a spreadsheet to send to Modeus.

  3. Once added, the Modeus support team will confirm that this has been completed.


Step 4: Mapping medications

Completed transactions from your Digitail account will be imported into your Vet S8 account. These will be visible in the Supply to Patient page as pending items. While processing these items, you may find that the medication is not automatically populated in the drug drop-down menu.

Although you can manually select the drug (assuming you have it in your medication list), you will likely want it to be automatically selected the next time a transaction for this product is imported from Digitail. This can be done by mapping.

  1. While processing a pending item where the drug is unmapped (‘Drug not found’), select the correct drug from the drop-down menu.

  2. The ‘Save mapping’ button should be automatically ticked, but if this is not the case, ensure that you tick this box.

  3. Ensure that the rest of the details in this pending item are correct before entering your user login details and clicking OK to save.

  4. To undo a mapping saved to the wrong drug:

    • Navigate to Lists > Medications.

    • Search for the relevant medication, select and highlight it, and click Edit, or double-click on it.

    • In the Editing Account Drug window, select the Drug Mapping tab and click Delete, then close the window.

  5. The next time that a transaction for this product is imported, be sure to select the correct drug before saving the mapping.
