Track staff commissions based only on money your clinic has actually collected.

How commission calculation works

Uses payment date (not sale date)

Commissions are calculated using the payment date, not when the sale was created or closed.

Example:

  • Sale created: March 1

  • Payment received: March 20

  • Commission appears on: March 20

This ensures:

  • No commission paid on unpaid invoices

  • No manual reversals later

  • Commission matches real collected revenue

Handles partial payments automatically

If a sale is only partially paid, commission is calculated only on the paid portion.

The calculation:

  • % Paid = Payment Allocated ÷ Sale Total

  • Commissionable Amount = Revenue Pre-Tax × % Paid

  • Commission = Commissionable Amount × Commission Rate

This ensures providers earn commission only on collected revenue.

Example

A sale contains:

Sale Total: $200

Revenue Pre-Tax: $180

Payment Received: $100

Commission Rate: 10%

Step 1 — Calculate % Paid

% Paid = Payment Allocated ÷ Sale Total

% Paid = 100 ÷ 200 = 50%

Step 2 — Calculate Commissionable Value

Commissionable Value = Revenue Pre-Tax × % Paid

Commissionable Value = 180 × 50% = $90

Step 3 — Calculate Commission

Commission = Commissionable Value × Commission Rate

Commission = 90 × 10% = $9

Result:

The provider earns $9 commission, because only half of the sale has been paid.

When the remaining $100 is paid later, the report will automatically calculate the remaining $9 commission in that payment period.

Includes only eligible sales

The report automatically excludes transactions that should not generate commission:

  • Payment Refunds (not returns)

  • Payment Reversals

  • Unpaid sales
