To get started with a merchant account, you will be asked to provide some information to help them verify your business and identify the persons with significant control. To fill the application form, you need to be an authorized representative in the business.

Please also have the following information handy:

  • Your business legal name, registration number, address

  • List of Directors, Ultimate Beneficial Owners (>25% ownership share in your business), and a Control Prong (a person who controls, manages, or directs your company)

  • Their personal identity documents and proof of address

  • Proof of bank account into which Paysafe needs to remit your payments

Connect your account to Digitail

After creating your merchant account, you need to add the following details in Digitail (Admin โ†’ Integrations):

  • Paysafe account ID

  • Handpoint Cloud Key (only if using handpoint terminals)

Start charging with VetPay

Once the integration is connected, you will see a payment link on all records and direct sales. You can send the link to the client via chat or email.

Once the payment is complete, the status will get automatically updated in Digitail.


FAQ

1. What is a merchant account?

A merchant account is what needs to be set up in order to accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express payments.

2. How long does it take to be set up?

After filling out the online application, VetPay can have you accepting cards using the payment links within 1-2 business days. Allow 5-7 days if you require a credit card terminal.

3. What is on the application?

The application asks for basic business information like your legal name and tax ID. If youโ€™re a Sole Proprietorship it is your full name and SSN. It will also have you to verify your bank information for credits and debits.

4. What is Paysafe?

The backend processor for the VetPay - Digitail integration is called โ€œPaysafeโ€.

5. Is there a long-term contract?

All merchant accounts with VetPay are month-to-month, meaning you can cancel with no penalty.

6. What are my rates?

Integrated merchants pay 2.70% + $0.20 per transaction and $40 per month.

*If you believe you are getting a better rate through your current provider, you can send VetPay a recent statement to see if they can match or beat your current pricing.

7. How quickly do funds get deposited?

You receive your deposits the next business day. If you process $1,000 on a Monday, you should receive it on a Tuesday to your bank account. You will not receive deposits on weekends or bank holidays.

8. How do I pay my bill?

Your account will be ACHโ€™d for fees owed sometime the first week of each month. For example, your February processing will be charged to you the first week of March. You will receive a statement that shows a breakdown of your processing volume and processing expenses.

9. What terminals or machines will I use and where are they compatible?

The PAX A77 is the main terminal VetPay recommends for new users; however, the integration is also compatible with the PAX A920 and A35. (images below)

Terminals are only compatible for US and Canada based practices.
