Updated over 2 months ago

Offering discounts to your clients is a great way to build loyalty, reward frequent visits, and provide special promotions. Digitail allows you to set up custom discounts that can be applied to specific clients, making it easy to manage and automate your discount strategy.

This guide will walk you through the steps to set up and manage client discounts within your Digitail account. Find out more about how to apply Discounts on Invoices here.

How to Set Up a Client Discount

Go to the Discounts section in your Admin to add new discounts, or update existing ones. You can configure different discount types (fixed or %), set the value, and write descriptions about them so the entire staff knows how to use them correctly.

  1. Discount Name: Give your discount a name that reflects its purpose (e.g., “Loyalty Discount” or “Holiday Special”).

  2. Discount Descritpion: Specify whether the discount applies to specific products, services, or the entire invoice. You can customize this to suit your business needs.

  3. Discount Type: Choose between a percentage-based discount (e.g., 10% off) or a fixed amount discount (e.g., $15 off).

  4. Discount Value: The actual value you want to discount, either as a percentage or a fixed amount.

  5. Clients: This is an optional field, but you can select multiple clients to associate with this Discount. You can also do this later, directly from the client profile.

How to Assign a Discount to a Client

Clients can have Discounts associated so every time you create an invoice for the specific pet parent the set discount will be automatically applied. You can remove the discount or change it to a different one if necessary, before closing the Invoice.

To set a client discount or update an existing one, simply go to the client profile and click on Edit. You'll see a Discount field, where you can remove the current Discount or change it to another one.

You'll be able to see the associated Client Discount on their profile, just below their name. There can only be one associated Discount per client.
