Setup 2-way SMS with Digitail
If you are interested in 2-way SMS, please contact our Support team to learn more about how it works, pricing, and setting up your clinic's personal SMS number. To integrate your phone system for SMS functionality and enable 2-way texting, Digitail partners with VOIP systems like Schultz Technology. This partnership facilitates seamless call logging, voicemail management, and centralizes SMS communication within Digitail.
Overview of SMS Functionality
Using 2-way SMS
Once your practice's phone number is set up, to send a text (SMS) message to your client, simply navigate to their pet's profile and click "Send Message".
Digitail supports robust SMS communication to ensure that clinics stay connected with their clients. By enabling SMS features, you can log calls, manage voicemails, and track SMS history, providing a centralized solution for efficient communication.
Through integrations with services like Schultz Technology, clinics can enable phone-based SMS texting. Features include logging of call records, voicemail management, and centralized communication for seamless operations.
Alternatively, you can compose a message from the Timeline view in the Health Card. Click "Add New," choose "Add Communication," and then opt for "Send Text Message."
To activate your clinic's 2-way SMS capabilities, follow three simple steps: (1) Express your interest with Digitail support, (2) Port or assign your preferred phone number for SMS use, (3) Test and confirm SMS functionality after setup.
A text message creation box will appear. Enter your text message under "Notes," Click "Save" to send the text message to your client.
📌 You have the option to select multiple pets under the "Pets" section. The message sent will be saved in all selected pets' profiles.
Your client will receive your message as a text on their cell phone. They can respond to the message directly by sending a text message back (they can include images too!) to the displayed number.
Reviewing Client Replies
All client replies will be visible in the notifications Center, in the top bar. You can click on them to go to the profile and read the whole message or reply.
All sent and received messages are automatically stored in the pet's profile. To review the messages you've sent, scroll to the timeline in the Health Card and click on "Client Communications." Here, you can see the text messages you sent and your client's replies, indicated by the "SMS" icon.
Reviewing all Text Messages
sometimes you might receive an SMS from somebody that is not registered with your clinic yet, or that is using a different phone number to text. All messages will be stored and displayed in the Notification Center, but if they are not coming from a registered phone number, there will be no link available to go to the client/patient profile.
