Overview of the My Dashboard Page

Learn how to use My Dashboard to stay on top of your day, track appointments and tasks, and keep everything organized in one place.

Updated this week

What is My Dashboard?

My Dashboard is your personal home screen in Digitail. It brings together your appointments, tasks, and recent medical records in one view so you can see exactly what needs your attention today - without jumping between modules. It's the first page you land on after logging in.

How This Helps Your Daily Work

Role

How it helps

Receptionists / Front desk

See today's and upcoming appointments at a glance, check in patients directly, and stay on top of any tasks assigned to you - all from one screen.

Vets & nurses

Review your schedule for the coming days, pick up draft SOAPs where you left off, and catch overdue tasks before they slip through.

Practice managers

Filter across providers to monitor the team's schedule and tasks, spot unassigned work, and get a quick read on the clinic's record activity.

Where to find it

Click the Home icon in the top-left corner of the Digitail navigation bar. My Dashboard is also the default page you land on when you log in.

How to use My Dashboard

My Dashboard has three sections: Schedule, Tasks, and Latest Records. On desktop they appear side by side; on mobile you can switch between them using the tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Digitail dashboard with appointment schedule, patient records, and task overview.

The Schedule section shows your upcoming appointments grouped by date, covering the next 7 days by default.

For each appointment you can see the time, patient and client name, and status (Pending, Confirmed, Checked-In, No Show, etc.). Click on any appointment to:

  • Check in the patient

  • Open their SOAP record

  • Review their client communication history

Filtering: Use the provider filter to switch between team members, or filter by appointment status to focus on what matters most right now.

Quick action: Click + Add Appointment to book a new appointment directly from the dashboard (if you have permission to create appointments).

The Tasks section organizes all your tasks into four time-based groups:

  • Overdue - tasks that are past their due date

  • Today - tasks due today

  • Tomorrow - tasks due tomorrow

  • Later - tasks due in the coming days

Click on any task to open it directly. Each task card shows the task name, due date, and the patient or client it's linked to.

Filtering: Filter by assigned provider to view a colleague's tasks, or include unassigned tasks to catch anything that hasn't been picked up yet. You can also adjust the overdue lookback window (yesterday, last week, last month, or all time) to control how far back overdue tasks are shown.

Quick action: Click + Add Task to create a new task without leaving the dashboard.

The Latest Records section gives you a snapshot of recent medical record activity. Records are grouped into three columns:

  • Draft - records that have been started but not yet submitted

  • Opened - records currently in progress

  • Closed - completed and locked records

This makes it easy to pick up where you left off on a draft SOAP, or check whether a record from yesterday has been closed properly.

Filtering: Filter by provider and use the date range options (yesterday, last 2 days, last week, or a custom range) to adjust which records appear.

Other things you can do

Filter across your whole team

Even though it's called My Dashboard, you're not limited to your own data. Use the provider filter in any section to view another team member's schedule, tasks, or records. Practice Managers can use this to monitor the full team without leaving the dashboard.

Use the Time Clock widget

If your clinic has the Time Clock feature enabled, you'll see a Time Clock widget at the top of the dashboard. Use it to clock in and out directly from this page.

Tips & best practices

  • Start every shift on My Dashboard - it gives you a full picture of the day in seconds, before you open anything else.

  • Check the Overdue tasks group first each morning. These are the items most at risk of being forgotten.

  • Use the Later group to plan ahead - if you see a heavy task load coming in two days, you can prepare now.

  • Filters are saved between sessions, so the provider and date settings you configure today will still be there tomorrow.

  • On mobile, use the bottom tabs to quickly switch between your schedule, tasks, and records without scrolling.

Common Questions

Why don't I see My Dashboard when I log in?

My Dashboard requires at least one of the following permissions: view appointments, view tasks, or view medical records. If you're being redirected elsewhere after login, ask your Practice Manager to check your role permissions.

Why am I only seeing my own appointments and tasks?

The default filter is set to show your own data. Use the provider filter at the top of each section to switch to another team member, or select multiple providers to see combined data.

I changed the filters - will they reset when I log out?

No, your filter selections are saved to your account and will persist the next time you open My Dashboard.

Can I add appointments or tasks from the dashboard?

Yes, use the + Add Appointment and + Add Task buttons in the Schedule and Tasks sections. These open the same forms as the Calendar and Tasks modules.

The Latest Records section is empty. What's wrong?

Check the date range filter - it defaults to the last 2 days, so if records were created earlier they may not appear. Expand the range to Last Week or use a custom date to find older records. Also check that the provider filter is set correctly.
