Client Profile Overview

Quick overview of the client details.

Contacts details

Here you can find at a glance all the contact information of the client. You can easily send them an email, send an invite to download the app (if they don't have it installed), call or see directions to their address on Google Maps.

On top of the contact details, you can see some other information at a glance, such as the main contact person / co-owner, the associated discount, the outstanding balance, or client credit.

📌 Use the 3 dots from the right corner to edit client information or manage client alerts. Check this article for more details.

Pets

See all the pets of the client at a glance. You can easily go to their profile by clicking on their profile pic or you can add a new pet to the same client from the 'plus' button.

Internal notes

Keep all the client notes in one place. You can edit the notes or add new ones. These notes are always private to your clinic and won't be shared with the client.

Invoices

This section displays all the sales/invoices of the client (not only the ones associated with this patient). You can check their status, the amount due, or the credit accumulated (if any), preview the invoice, and download or send it via email.

Cards on file

If you are using DSP as your payment provider, you can save cards on file, to be used for future transactions or Wellness plans.

Click on 'Add New Card' and fill in the information to save a new card on the client's profile for future use. You can save cards on file after a terminal transaction (only available in the US) or via payment links. Make sure you (or the client, if they pay online when they are away) are selecting the checkbox above the 'Pay' button.

You can remove a card on file directly from the 'Cards on file' section of the Client Overview. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete that specific card before removing it.

Co-owners / Contact persons

From here you can manage other co-owners or contact persons. Add new ones, edit or delete existing ones.

📌 You can mark with a star one contact - their name will appear at a glance next to the client's name.

📌 You can also add the contact person to all animals of the main owner by clicking the checkbox.

Communication Preferences

This section shows the client's language and notification preferences at a glance. It replaces the old "Preferred Communication Channels" section.

What you'll see

Language — the language used for all notifications and documents sent to this client (e.g., appointment confirmations, invoices, discharge notes). Shows the selected language from the list of languages your clinic supports.

Appointments — notification status for appointment-related messages (new appointments, confirmations, changes, and upcoming reminders). A color-coded badge shows the current state: All Notifications On (green), Some Notifications Off (amber), or All Notifications Off (red).

Preventive Care — notification status for preventive care reminders (vaccinations, parasite prevention, overdue items, and recommended visits). Same color-coded badges.

Marketing & Campaigns — whether the client has opted in or out of promotional communications from your clinic.

Click Edit to expand the section and see or adjust the individual notification types and channels (Email / SMS) per category.

Send preference link to client

At the bottom of the section, you'll find the "Send preference link to client" button. This sends the client an email with a link to their own Communication Preferences page on the Pet Parent Portal. From there, they can customize their language, notification types, and channels themselves.

📌 You can send this link once per day per client.

This is the recommended way to help clients manage their preferences — it creates a clear consent record from the client's own action.

How pet parents access their preferences

Pet parents can reach their Communication Preferences page in two ways:

1. Via the email you send them — using the "Send preference link to client" button described above.

2. Via the footer of any email from your clinic — every email sent through Digitail includes a "Manage your communication preferences" link at the bottom. Clicking it takes the client to the same preferences page on the Pet Parent Portal.

On that page, the client can adjust which appointment and preventive care notifications they receive, choose their preferred channels (Email / SMS), opt out of marketing communications, and select their preferred language — all scoped to your clinic specifically.
