Manage Prescriptions through Vetcove (In Beta)

Streamline prescriptions through the Vetcove integration.

With Vetcove Home Delivery, you can conveniently manage prescriptions for your patients while ensuring seamless data synchronization with Digitail.


Vetcove-Digitail Prescription Management Integration

  1. Create Prescriptions

    • Use Vetcove Home Delivery to create prescriptions for your patients.

    • Each prescription is automatically synced to the patient’s record in Digitail for easy tracking.

  2. Patient Records Integration

    • The patient records available in Vetcove Home Delivery are synced directly from Digitail, ensuring consistency across platforms.

  3. Medication Selection

    • Choose medications from the suppliers available in Vetcove Home Delivery.

    • Add essential prescription details, including:

      • Dosage quantities

      • Refill instructions

      • Expiration dates

      • Days supply value

      • Prescribing doctor

Data Synchronization

  • Initial Sync: After setting up the integration, Vetcove Home Delivery performs an initial data sync with Digitail, which takes up to 4 hours to complete.

  • Ongoing Sync: Once the initial sync is done, data between Digitail and Vetcove Home Delivery updates nightly to ensure accurate records.


How to Enable the Vetcove Integration

If you are not an existing Vetcove user, please reach out to them first to set up your account. Once you have your account, you'll be able to finalize the Vetcove-Digitail integration in a few clicks!

If you are an existing Vetcove user, you can follow these steps:

Go to Admin:

Log into your Digitail account and navigate to the Admin section. Under the Integrations section, you’ll find the option to enable the Vetcove integration.

Activate the Integration:

Select the Vetcove Pharmacy option and click on Activate. You will be prompted to connect your Vetcove account to complete the activation process.

Once you complete the activation process and return to our Vetcove Phramacy integration page, a select field with staff member will appear. In order to continue, you need to select the default staff member to be used for writing back the prescription details in Digitail. At this time, the Vetcove integration does not support multiple staff members.


Using the Vetcove Integration in Your Workflow

Once the integration is enabled, you can begin using it to create home delivery prescriptions and orders directly through Digitail.

Creating a New Prescription (from the Record)

When creating a new prescription for a patient, you’ll now have the option to send it directly to Vetcove. Go to the Medications tab and click on 'Online Pharmacy'.

You'll be redirected to a new Vetcove tab, where you'll need to confirm some of the information and submit the request. The patient and client details are sent automatically from Digitail, but you need to select the product and units.

  • Client/pet record is automatically copied into Vetcove in real-time if they do not exist

  • Existing records are updated in Vetcove based on current PIMS data

  • Updates include ALL fields

Once you save the order, you'll see the Prescription added automatically in your SOAP. It will be marked as "Home delivery | Vetcove" for easy tracking.

Creating a New Prescription (from the Health Card)

You can start a Home Delivery with Vetcove without opening a SOAP. From the Health Card, click on the 'Online Pharmacy' icon to start the order.

Tracking Orders

Home Delivery orders and prescriptions appear on the Patient Health Card, giving a complete compliance history to help you make informed decisions about a patient's therapy plan.

Keep track of all prescription orders through the Prescriptions tab in Digitail. This allows you to monitor the status of each prescription, ensuring that your clients receive their medications on time.
