ℹ️ Learn how to use the Notification Center to stay up-to-date with what’s happening in your clinic, mark or archive notifications, customize which notifications you want to receive, and choose if you’d like to get them for your actions only or for the whole team.
How to Access the Notification Center
To open the Notification Center, click on the bell icon in the top right corner of your Digitail account. From here, you can review all notifications related to Appointments, Tasks, Lab Results, Client Communication, Digitail Wellness Plans, and more.
A red badge showing the number of unread notifications will appear next to the bell icon.
If you’re using a multi-clinic setup, you’ll only see notifications for the location you’re currently logged into.
Understanding the Notification Center Tabs
The Notification Center is organized into different tabs to help you keep track of all updates easily.
My Notifications
The My Notifications tab filters the feed to show only notifications that are specifically linked to your actions or assignments — like tasks you’ve been given, appointments on your calendar, or messages relevant just to you.
Use this view to stay focused on what’s most important for your day-to-day work!
My Mentions
The Mentions tab shows all notifications where you’ve been directly mentioned — for example, if a colleague tags you in a comment on a record, task or appointment. This helps you quickly find updates that need your attention.
Client Replies
The Replies tab specifically collects all Client text replies to text messages. This makes it easy for you and your team to respond quickly without losing track of ongoing conversations.
All Notifications
The All tab shows notifications related to your colleagues, defined as 'Clinic' level notifications in the Notification Preferences.
These notifications do not count to your red badge counter.
Archived Notifications
The Archived tab displays all notifications you’ve manually archived.
You can archive notifications in two ways:
Click the X next to a specific notification to archive it individually.
Use Archive all read or Archive all to clean up multiple notifications at once.
Archived notifications stay here for your reference but won’t appear in the other tabs anymore.
Highlights of the Notification Center
Mark all as read, archive all read, or archive all
You can now easily manage your notifications by:
Selecting Mark all as read to clear unread badges.
Choosing Archive all read to keep only the new items visible.
Using Archive all to clean up your notifications tab in one click.
These actions are available for each notification tab in the sidebar — for example, you can apply these actions to 'My Notifications' tab separately from 'My Mentions' one.
When you click on a notification, it will be marked as read and the red counter badge will update automatically (the badge only shows the number of unread notifications). You can archive a single notification by clicking the X next to it.
Clicking on a notification can help you take action faster, depending on its type:
Tasks: Clicking a notification in the Tasks category opens a quick Task Preview. From here, you can see all task details, mark it as Done, change the Assignee, edit it, or make other updates — all without leaving the Notifications sidebar.
Records: Clicking on notifications related to Patient Records/SOAPs (such as Lab results or mentions) will open that specific record in a new tab, so you can review or update it immediately.
📌 Note: Not all notifications redirect you to a different page — some are just informational and don’t require any extra action.
Notification Preferences
Each user can now fully personalize which notifications they want to receive. Click on the Settings icon in the Notification Center sidebar to open your Notification Preferences. From here you can:
Choose which notifications you want to receive (e.g., only get notified when you are assigned a task).
Decide if you want to receive personal notifications only, or also see notifications related to your colleagues’ activities.
Enable or disable email notifications for each available notification type — all directly from this panel, without needing to go to your profile.
Not all notifications have an email option for the clinic team. For example, changes to appointments made by a staff member won’t trigger an email notification for your team, but they will send an update to the Pet Parent. To customize what notifications Pet Parents receive, read more here.
Notification Categories
The Notification Center keeps you up-to-date by grouping your notifications into clear categories:
Appointments
Notifications about new appointment requests, booking confirmations, cancellations, or reschedules — so you never miss a change in the schedule.
Tasks
Updates when you’re assigned a new task, when a task is edited, marked as done, or needs your attention.
Records
Get notified when a Patient’s record is updated — for example, a new SOAP note, a change to a Treatment Plan, or when you’re tagged in a note.
Client Communication
Stay on top of client replies. This helps you respond quickly to Pet Parent questions or confirmations.
Lab Results
Be notified when new lab results arrive, so you can review and follow-up with the client.
Digitail Wellness Plans
Notifications related to your Digitail Wellness Plans failed subscriptions.
Other
This includes notifications that don’t fall under a main category — like when a new user tags you in a comment from an Appointment, Task, or Record. Mentions like these help you stay in the loop and respond quickly where needed.
Personal vs. Clinic Notifications
You’re in control of how much information you want to see and how you prefer to receive it!
Personal – only get updates that are relevant to you.
Clinic – get notified about activities from your team too.
For example:
As a Receptionist, you might want to get an email or in-app notification when a Pet Parent requests an appointment — no matter which Doctor they book with — so you can manage the schedule easily.
The Doctor, however, might not want to receive these requests by email, but only see relevant appointments for themselves in the platform.
Keep in mind: some notifications are clinic-wide by nature and can’t be tied to just one user — like client SMS replies — if the preference is enabled, all replies will show up in your Notifications sidebar.
