How to Use the Digitail Pet Parent App to Manage Your Pet’s Care

Your Guide to Getting Started with the Digitail Pet Parent App

The Digitail Pet Parent App helps you easily manage your pet’s care - from booking appointments and viewing medical records to chatting with your veterinary team - all in one place.

💌App Invitation

Check your email or ask your clinic

  • When your clinic adds you as a new client, you’ll receive an invitation to join the app. If you didn’t receive one, please contact your clinic to request a new invitation.


📲Download the App

Download the Pet Parent app by

  • Clicking this link here: Pet Parent App

  • Alternatively, search for Digitail - Smarter Pet Care in your App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).


Log In

  • Existing Users: Use the email address registered with your veterinary clinic and the password provided in your Welcome email.

  • Unsure if your clinic has registered your email: If, when you enter your email, you see a green checkmark next to it and the message "It seems you already have an account. Let's sign in", this means your clinic has already invited you. *If the app does not recognize your email, you should contact your clinic to request an invitation.

  • Magic Link: Prefer not to remember a password? Use the "Magic Link" option to receive a one-time login link via email.

  • Reset Password: If you would prefer to reset your password, click “use password” instead of “send magic link”. This will take you to the password recovery page, where you can click “forgot password?”.


📅 Managing Appointments

Book Appointments

To book an appointment, go to the home page, and under “Get in touch with your clinics,” tap the Calendar icon on your clinic’s profile banner. You can also click the + button to access the Calendar icon.

  • See your clinic's real-time availability.

  • Choose a time and request an appointment.

  • The clinic will confirm or suggest an alternative.

  • You’ll receive two notifications after submitting an appointment request. One push notification to confirm your appointment request has been sent, and another once your clinic accepts the appointment request.


Appointment History

Access this page by tapping the Calendar icon in the bottom menu on the home page.

  • View past, upcoming, and cancelled appointments.

  • Reschedule or cancel if needed.


Patient Intake

If your clinic has AI intake enabled, you’ll receive an in-app notification confirming it.

The check-in opens 3 days before your appointment date. You’ll get a push notification when check-in becomes available, or you can open your appointment directly and complete the process at your convenience.

  • The details you share with the AI intake are automatically added to your appointment notes and shared with your clinic.


Reschedule an Appointment

  1. Go to the Upcoming Appointments tab.

  2. Click Reschedule.

  3. You’ll be redirected to the booking page showing the availability for:

    • The staff member you originally selected, or

    • All available staff.

  4. Select a new date and time to request.

After submitting your request:

  • You’ll receive an email confirming it was sent to the clinic.

  • You’ll receive another email once the clinic approves your new appointment.


Reminders

You’ll find helpful reminders on the home page under “Upcoming Appointments” and “Requires Attention”.

  • Check upcoming appointments, vaccinations, and other due services.


Notifications

You can manage notifications by clicking your Profile Picture at the top left of the home page, or by tapping the Hamburger Menu (☰) at the bottom right of the home page and selecting “Account”.

  • Manage notification settings to stay up to date.


🩺 Accessing Medical Records

Visit Summaries

You can find an Overview on the home page under “Latest Visit Summaries.”

For a full view of all visits, head to the Home Screen, tap the Paw Print icon, select your pet’s name, and click the visits tab.

  • After each visit, view diagnoses, recommendations, discharge instructions, and any shared attachments directly in the app.


Pet Profiles

From the home screen, tap the Paw Print icon, select your Pet’s Name.

  • View each of your pets’ records by toggling through their individual profiles.

  • Never miss a due date, mix up medication, or misplace a record again!

  • Personalize your pets’ profiles by uploading a profile picture. Their profile picture will also be shared with your clinic.


Documents

  • All your pet’s important documents in one place: Rabies Certificates, forms, Treatment plans (estimates), and Invoices.

  • Review signed and approved Treatment plans.

  • Review and approve proposed Treatment plans shared by your veterinarian, ahead of upcoming appointments.

    Note: You can click into Invoices with outstanding balances to pay them through the app.


Health Card

From the profile screen, click View Profile (located between “add preventive appointment” and “view medications”).

In the Overview section, you can:

  • Track your pet’s weight and allergies

  • Access your pet’s spay or neuter certificate (if your clinic performed the procedure)

In the Preventive tab, you can:

  • View your pet’s medications and vaccinations.

  • Stay on top of upcoming due dates

Note: If you need to provide proof of vaccination for grooming, boarding, or travel, you can download your pet’s preventive status as a document by clicking the Share button next to "Current Prevention".

In the Medications tab, you can:

  • Review your pet's current and active medications

  • See any medications prescribed in the past

If refills are available, a Refill Medication button will appear. Tap it to send a message to your clinic requesting a refill.

In the Plans tab:

  • If your clinic offers Wellness Plans, you’ll find them under Plans, just to the right of medications.


💬 Communicating with Your Veterinarian

Chat Feature

To send a message to your clinic, from the home page, tap the Chat icon on the clinic’s profile banner.

  • Engage in secure, real-time conversations with your veterinary team.

  • Send your clinic a text message or use voice-to-text. You can also send a photo, video, or document.


🐕 Tracking Your Pet's Health

Diary Updates

From the home page, tap the + button on the bottom menu bar, then select Diary Update.

  • Select the pet you’d like to create a diary update for.

  • Set diary entries to private if you’re just tracking for your own knowledge, or set them to public if you’d like them to be added to your pet’s clinic file.

  • Public entries won’t automatically notify your clinic. You can send them a message to let them know you’ve added new updates.

  • Diary entries can be especially helpful for monitoring your pet’s health after a procedure, for weight management, or simply to keep an eye on their well-being. And yes, as we all know, even poop pictures can be useful when tracking your pet’s health.


Add a New Pet

From the home page, tap the + button on the bottom menu bar, then select the Paw Print icon labeled “Pet”.

Note: If you add a pet through the app, they won’t be linked to your clinic until you book their first appointment and the clinic accepts it.


Remove a Pet

Note: If you created a pet profile in your app and booked an appointment for that pet profile, or in any other way connected it to the clinic, then you cannot remove it using the mobile app. You will need to contact your clinic to remove this pet profile by archiving it within their software.

  • If you accidentally created a duplicate profile of your pet in the app and haven't connected this pet's profile to any clinic yet, then you can remove this pet profile on your own. To do this:

    1. Select their Profile Icon.

    2. Click the Paw Print that says “View Profile.”

    3. Tap the Three Dots in the top right corner.

    4. Click Remove.


🔧Account Settings

You can access your account settings by clicking your Profile Picture at the top left of the home page, or by tapping the Hamburger Menu (☰) at the bottom right of the home page and selecting “Account”.

  • Personalize your experience, update your personal details, change your password, and manage your saved payment methods.

Note: To save your payment method, go to the Account screen and click the Payment icon. Then select Add Card at the bottom, choose your clinic, and enter your card details.


❓Frequently Asked Questions

App Updates

  • Be sure to keep your app up to date for optimal performance. To make sure you’re always using the latest version of the Pet Parent App, check your device’s app store. Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android), search for the app, and if you see an Update button, tap it. If it only shows Open, you already have the most up-to-date version.

Health Concerns / Urgent Response Needed

  • If you have an emergency, please contact your clinic directly using the phone number located within their contact information. We want to make sure your pet’s needs are taken care of right away, and calling the clinic is the fastest way to get help in an emergency.

Need Help with Your Pet’s Information?

  • For anything related to your pets, such as their health, medical records, documentation, or updating your contact information, you’ll need to contact your veterinary clinic directly.

Spay/Neuter Status

  • You will need to reach out to your clinic to update your pet’s spay/neuter status.

Changing Your Email Address

  • If you need to change your email address, reach out to your clinic, and they will update your information.

To Contact Your Clinic Directly

  • You can easily find your clinic’s contact information within the app. Simply tap the clinic icon located under “Get in touch with your clinics”, and all the relevant details—like phone number, email, and address—will be displayed.


⚠️Having Trouble with the App?

If something in the app isn’t working as expected

You can reach Digitail Support directly from the app. To do this:

  • Tap your Profile Picture at the top left of the home page, or open the Hamburger Menu (☰) at the bottom right.

  • Select AccountAbout, then tap the Email link to contact Support.

Use this if you're experiencing issues like

  • App crashing

  • Error messages

  • Pages not loading

Before reaching out

  • Check you're using the latest app version.

  • Open the App Store or Google Play Store, search for “Digitail – Smarter Pet Care,” and tap Update if available.

When contacting app support, please include

  • A description of the issue

  • Any error messages

  • A screenshot or screen recording (if possible)

  • Your device type & OS version

  • This will not contact your veterinary clinic.

  • Digitail is not affiliated with your provider.

  • Digitail does not have access to your pet’s medical records.
