What is the Payment Link?
The Payment Link lets you send a unique URL to a Pet Parent so they can pay their invoice online - without needing to be at the clinic or call in with a card. It's available on both standard and Consolidated Invoices and works with Digitail Secure Payments (DSP).
✅ This is ideal for: clients who left before paying, phone-in payments, or follow-up billing after a visit.
Before you start
To use the Payment Link feature:
Your clinic must have Digitail Secure Payments (DSP) enabled.
The invoice must have an outstanding balance (status: Pending or Partially Paid).
If DSP isn't active for your clinic, contact your account manager or visit Charge using Digitail Secure Payments (DSP) for setup information.
How to send a Payment Link
Navigate to the invoice - from the Health Card - Invoices, Flowboard, or Sales Report.
Open the invoice to view the full invoice screen.
In the action bar at the top of the invoice, click Payment Link.
The link is copied to your clipboard automatically.
Share the link with the Pet Parent via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or any other channel.
ℹ️ The Payment Link is also available in the Billing/Payment section of the Record and on the Health Card
📌 The Payment Link is unique to that invoice. Once the full balance is paid, the link will no longer be active.
What happens after the Pet Parent pays?
Once payment is completed through the link:
The invoice status updates automatically to Closed.
The payment is recorded in the Payments Report.
Common questions
Can I use a Payment Link for a Consolidated Invoice?
Yes - the Payment Link button is available on Consolidated Invoices in the same way as standard invoices.
What if the client only pays part of the balance?
Partial payments are supported. The invoice will update to Partially Paid and you can share the link again for the remaining balance.
Is there a way to send the link automatically via email?
You can include the payment link manually when sending via the Send via Email button or copy and paste it into any communication you send to the client outside of Digitail.
